BePacMan is implemented by a cross-border partnership from Poland, Germany, Denmark and Lithuania. Together we combine research expertise, entrepreneurship and innovation support, environmental clusters and public waste management experience to develop and test practical solutions for extending the life cycle of paper packaging.

1. Gdańsk University of Technology

Gdańsk University of Technology plays a key role in the BePacMan, leveraging its extensive expertise in environmental and sustainable solutions, waste management, and renewable resources. As a leader in numerous European projects, GUT contributes valuable knowledge and experience in project management and circular economy practices.
Within the BePacMan project, specialists actively engage in developing innovative solutions for improving paper packaging recycling and optimizing resource efficiency. The university’s experts collaborate in international teams, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and fostering interdisciplinary approaches to sustainable packaging management.

3. ENVI MV

As a renowned expert in environmental solutions, enviMV brings a wealth of knowledge and innovative technologies to this ambitious initiative.

With a strong commitment to sustainability, enviMV is playing a crucial role in transforming the lifecycle of paper, paperboard, and cardboard (PPK) packaging.

 With the South Baltic region accounting for 70% of Europe’s paper production, enviMV’s participation ensures that cutting-edge environmental strategies are integrated into the project.

Their work is helping to create economically and ecologically sustainable packaging systems that benefit both businesses and the planet.

Together with partners from Germany, Poland, Lithuania, and Denmark, enviMV is driving the transition to a circular economy and setting new standards for sustainable packaging.

4. Hochschule wismar

Hochschule Wismar – University of Applied Sciences: Technology, Business and Design is the German academic partner in BePacMan (Better Paper Packaging Management), supporting the project’s goal of extending the life cycle of paper packaging through cross-sector and cross-border reuse approaches in the South Baltic region.

Role in BePacMan

  • Developing and evaluating circular solutions and business models that help stakeholders (e-commerce, logistics, waste management and SMEs) shift from linear to circular resource use.

  • Providing expertise on business model innovation to strengthen the feasibility and economic viability of reuse-oriented approaches (incl. external expert input on business models).

  • Supporting capacity-building for SMEs, including the project’s training cycles and certification component delivered by academic partners.

5. Klaipėda Science and Technology Park

In Lithuania, our partners at Klaipėda Science and Technology Park are specializing in fostering innovation in green and blue technologies. With experience in over 60 international and national projects, they promote the development of modern scientifically susceptible technologies, and provide infrastructural and consulting services for innovative enterprises and business ideas across western Lithuania and beyond. As part of the #BePacMan project, KSTP focuses on developing sustainable business models that will help to retain e-commerce paper packaging in circulation for as long as possible, and boosting circular business capacities through cross-border training.

6. PACKBRIDGE

Packbridge is the largest packaging cluster in Northern Europe – based in Skåne, Sweden.​ Cluster brings together a critical mass of stakeholders from industry, academia and the public sector, all working towards shared goals. We promote a future-proof – competitive, innovative and resilient – Swedish packaging industry.

6. CLEAN

Clean, the Danish Water & Environmental Cluster, is one of the consortium partners in the BePacMan project. Clean is the innovative space for those who develop and need to solve water and environmental challenges. We connect companies, utilities, knowledge institutions and the public sector to market-driven green innovation in Denmark and abroad.

 

In the BePacMan project Clean will engage the Danish innovation ecosystem and facilitate the engagement with relevant Danish stakeholders to map challenges and solutions for even more sustainable paper packaging management.
